Simon Mitchell and his Father Anthony were ready for church. “Have you seen Daddy?” Simon asked as he walked into the kitchen and saw his Father.  “Not yet, sweetie. He still hasn’t got back from the hardware store.”The older man answered, sipping a glass of orange juice while he watched the living room tv. The local news station was showing a press-conference with Mayor John Adams of Black Ridge. “I hope he gets back soon, I don’t want to be late for church.” Simon said as he walked over to his Beta parent by the kitchen counter. “You’re such a good boy.” Anthony remarked proudly, leaning his head over and giving his son a quick smooch on the lips.  Simon smiled and blushed. “Thanks, pop. Jack Holliday was ready for church, but his son wasn’t. “Tommy! Are you getting dressed?” He shouted up the stairs. Tommy was in his bedroom putting on his best shirt. His Dad had insisted he wear “nice clothes” for church. “Yeah, I’ll be down in a minute!” He called-out in response.  Jack was waiting in the living room eating an apple while watching the news on tv, they were showing footage from a press-conference with the mayor from earlier that day.
